During the 1940s and 50s, Maurice was listed as a neon glass blower and glass bender in census records. He likely had a glass blowing operation onsite, which explains the many pieces of neon tubing that have been discarded on the river bank, amongst other household waste. Time has transformed these items into amazing treasures.

A cleared check from 1944 fell from the ceiling in the old kitchen - $2.40 from Lillian Wilcox (Maurice's wife) to her step-father (Charles Wade). Memo line is torn, wonder what it was for?
